Cool temperatures and sunny skies set the stage for a perfect 2016 Katonah Fire Department Parade, which unofficially kicks off the summer season in town, and is the opening act for our four-day annual carnival! 25 neighboring fire departments, most accompanied by bands, attended this year's carnival, marching in five divisions. As Katonah residents lined the streets cheering, Katonah FD members proudly led the procession. The excitement of the parade was enhanced as our members responded to three fire alarms during this time--one right before the parade, one during the parade (where a duty crew broke ranks to respond as the remainder marched), and one right after the parade. Fortunately, everything turned out all right. Katonah Fire Department wishes to thank all of the neighboring fire departments for helping to make this a great evening, and we extend our congratulations to Mahopac FD for taking home the "Best Overall" trophy.
