At approximately 7:36 a.m. Tuesday morning, Katonah Fire Department was dispatched to an MVA rollover on I-684 South at mile marker 17. A commuter van had hit the rear of a pickup truck and had then flipped on its driver's side. 12 people were injured. Multiple EMS agencies responded with KFD's Rescue 17. Additional apparatus was called in once Rescue 17 arrived on scene. The injured were assessed and transported by the various EMS agencies to area hospitals. Fortunately, none of the injuries were life threatening. While operating at this accident, KFD was also dispatched to a second MVA on Route 35 at Whitelockville Road. Car 2211 and Engine 116 responded to that call, and after determining that the second accident was minor, with no injuries, redirected to 684 south. Meanwhile, Engine 117 was responding as well to I-684 to provide additional support and traffic control. Units were on scene until approximately 9 a.m. Traffic on I-684 was backed up almost to Interstate 84 as a result of the accident.
