KFD was dispatched to an MVA and reported vehicle fire on Saturday evening at about 7 p.m. Two vehicles were involved, and the initial report had the accident in Golden's Bridge FD's district. As a result, both Katonah and Golden's Bridge units responded. Upon arriving at the scene, the occupants were out of their vehicles, and there was no fire. However, one vehicle's fuel tank was pierced and the contents had leaked on the ground. Additionally, the fence between the highway and the Metro North railroad tracks was damaged, along with approximately 100 feet of guard rail. KFD's Rescue 17 and Engine 115, along with Golden's Bridge Engine 139 and Tanker 1, established a safe zone in the slow lane of I-684 at the Exit 6 off ramp while EMS units treated the vehicle occupants. Both ended up being transported. Units were on scene for approximately one hour and 20 minutes. Our thanks to Golden's Bridge for their assistance in keeping the scene safe!
