Katonah FD units were called out at about 7:30 p.m. New Year's Eve on a report of fire in an apartment. Cars 2211, 2212, 2213, Engine 115 and Ladder 39 responded and arrived at the Bedford Mews Condominiums to find that a faulty air handler in one of the apartments had caused an electrical problem. KFD crews checked the apartment in question, along with neighboring apartments, to ensure that the electrical issue had not spread in the ceilings or to other living areas. The air handling system was shut down and the apartment was made safe. Katonah units were on scene for about 45 minutes.
