Katonah Fire Department was dispatched early Sunday evening to a reported motor vehicle accident/rollover. Upon arrival on scene, Car 2213 reported everyone was out of the two vehicles involved. However, the accident occurred right in the middle of the merge to I-684 from the Route 117 Bypass/Saw Mill River Parkway, and the off-ramp leading from the Bypass to Route 35. As a result, traffic quickly backed up. County Police quickly closed off access to I-684 from the Saw Mill while KFD's Utility 8 blocked Exit 6 from I-684 NB. Meanwhile, Rescue 17 and Engine 115 crews deployed for assistance and traffic control at the scene. Fortunately, there were only minor injuries, but it took over an hour to clear the road and re-open highway access.
