KFD members were out in force Wednesday night for the traditional parade through town that kicks off our annual carnival. Close to 30 neighboring fire departments joined KFD in the parade, that started at 7 p.m. in perfect weather conditions. Each participating department marched past reviewers from the Westchester County Parade Judges' Association, and were competing for trophies. Best Overall went to Mahopac Fire Department. Second Best Overall went to Bedford Hills Fire Department. The carnival officially opened behind fire headquarters following the parade. It will continue to run tonight, tomorrow night, and will run on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. Remember that it's bracelet night every night ($25 for a bracelet that allows you unlimited rides). Additionally, all food items in our food tent will be half price between 1 and 5 p.m. Saturday.
