Ladder 39 and a contingent of Katonah FD members went to Mount Kisco this evening to participate in the solemn commemoration of the 17th anniversary of 9/11 at the Mount Kisco 9/11 Memorial. Ladder 39 was parked in front of Mutual Engine and Hose Co. in Mount Kisco, under a suspended American flag. FD members representing several fire departments from around the area, including Chappaqua, Bedford Hills, and Bedford Village, marched with Mount Kisco firefighters, FDNY firefighters, and Westchester County Police, from the Green Street Fire Station to the 9/11 Memorial and passed under the flag. The ceremony lasted for about an hour, and was also attended by Scouts, county and state dignitaries, representatives from FDNY, and relatives of those who lost family members on that tragic day.
