Katonah Fire Department's Engine 117 had a busy day Saturday. Accompanied by Car 2211, E-117 first paid a visit to the annual Katonah Elementary School Fifth Grade Car Wash, where dozens of eager fifth graders attacked it with soap, water, sponges and brushes. It's rumored that most of the soap and water ended up on the fifth graders, but we're pretty happy with how shiny the engine turned out! Next, the newly washed E-117 set up in front of the Katonah Village Library for the town's annual Volunteer Fair. Firefighters handed out recruitment information and allowed passers-by to climb into the engine to take pictures. .
