Sunday, October 14, KFD opened its doors to the public for its annual Open House, to commemorate Fire Prevention Week. In addition to providing plenty of vital fire safety information, the Open House had lots of attractions for kids and adults alike. These included two fire-themed bouncy castles, fire truck rides, hats and other souvenirs, hands-on firefighting demonstrations, the opportunity to check out our apparatus, a walk through the smoked-out training tower, and of course, the highlight--the burning and subsequent extinguishment of a specially-built structure. The Open House also showcases membership opportunities for community residents. If attending the Open House fostered your interest in joining, send us an email to info@katonahfd.org. You maycheck out our Prospective Member Brochure by clicking on the link at the top of our home page.
