Katonah Fire Department and Katonah-Bedford Hills Ambulance Corps teamed up Saturday for a rescue drill that involved the use of two donated vehicles. Organized and led by KFD and KBHVAC officers, the drill simulated a two-car/motorcycle accident with multiple victims trapped within the vehicles. Following a classroom overview, the two agencies' members went out and coordinated on stabilizing the vehicles, assessing the patients, gaining access to the vehicles, removing the victims, and treating them. The drill was a terrific opportunity for working together, especially because of the numerous motor vehicle accidents both agencies respond to.

During the drill, Engine 115 and Ladder 39 also responded mutual aid and stood by in Chappaqua FD's headquarters.

Donated cars are the backbone of our motor vehicle accident drills. If interested in donating a car, please contact info@katonahfd.org
