On Wednesday evening at about 6:40 p.m., Katonah Fire Department's Ladder 39 was dispatched to relocate at Somers Fire District HQ for a structure fire. The mutual aid call was canceled before Ladder 39 left HQ. However, approximately 10 minutes later, KFD's Tanker 6 was requested to assist Golden's Bridge Fire Department at a large area wildfire that had broken out on Todd Road near Butternut Lane. Tanker 6 arrived on scene and its crew immediately went to work fighting a large brush fire on the east side of Todd Road. At the same time, Croton Falls' Tanker tied into Tanker 6 and Tanker 6 supplied Croton Falls, which had established a firefighting operation about 100 yards up from Tanker 6. Tanker 6 was operating at the fire scene until about 9:15, when it was released by Golden's Bridge Command.
