Katonah Fire Department capped off a busy Sunday with a brush fire call on Cantitoe Street. Following a day that started with an early morning car fire, followed by a rescue, and then a gas leak, this fourth call came in at 5:40 p.m. A downed wire on Cantitoe Street near the intersection with Girdle Ridge Road caused a small area brush fire. Engine 117, Tanker 6 and Cars 2211 and 2212 responded. After securing the scene and establishing traffic control, units waited until NYSEG arrived to kill the power to the affected power line and pole. After that, the fire was extinguished by KFD personnel, and the department went back in service by 745 p.m.
