Thursday night, Katonah Fire Department provided Engine 117 and a crew to stand by during the annual Fourth of July celebration at Caramoor Center for the Arts. KFD stands by each year to make sure that no fires break out as a result of the fireworks show, which follows a live music performance. For KFD members on that stand by crew, it's an opportunity to get a better-than-front-row seat for the fireworks. When the show is over, we check the surrounding trees and grounds for any burning embers or fireworks remnants, and coordinate with the fireworks company to confirm their clean-up happens without issue. We're happy to report another successful show and would like to thank the staff at Caramoor for arranging such a great event for the community.
