We were honored to be asked by Mount Kisco Fire Department to cover their fire district during their annual 9-11 ceremony Wednesday night. The heartfelt ceremony takes place at the Mount Kisco 9-11 Memorial that is located near the Mount Kisco Library at the intersection of Route 133 and Route 117. Ladder 39 with its crew stood by ready to cover any incidents or alarms that might occur during the hour-long ceremony, which featured presentations, speakers, an exchange of American Flags at the memorial, and a stirring rendition of "Taps" and the "National Anthem". The highlight of the ceremony was the parade of fire department members from Mount Kisco, Bedford Hills, Katonah, and Bedford Village, led by the Mount Kisco Fife and Drum Corps. The ceremony is a perfect way to remember the incredible sacrifices made by so many on 9-11-01 and in the years since.
