At about 3 p.m. Monday afternoon, Katonah Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Allison Road. Car 2211, Car 2213, Engine 116, Engine 115, Ladder 39, Tanker 6 and Rescue 17 all responded. Engine 116 arrived first on scene and reported a working fire. The Captain on Engine 116 transmitted a 10-75, resulting in mutual aid apparatus coming from Bedford Hills, Bedford Village, Mount Kisco and Croton Falls Fire Departments, along with Katonah-Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Engine 116’s and Ladder 39’s crew stretched 400’ of 3” line to the front door and attached an 1 3/4” hose line. Engine 116’s crew made entry into the house and were able to quickly knock down the fire. Ladder 39’s crew began ventilation and searches. Engine 115 laid a supply line from Leslie Ln to the scene with the assistance of Bedford Engine 109 for a total of 1,900’ of 5” hose. Units were working on scene for approximately two hours, checking for extension, ventilation and investigation. Fortunately, damage to the house was kept to a minimum, thanks to the quick response. Katonah Fire Department extends a thanks to the many mutual aid fire and EMS units that responded to our call which is needed due to the lack of fire hydrants.
