On Thursday, April 16, at 1837 hours, Katonah Fire Department was dispatched mutual aid to Armonk to stand by in their headquarters while they were fighting a large brush fire on Route 22 at the Rye Lake Bridge. While enroute to Armonk's headquarters, Katonah's Tanker 6 was redirected to the scene. Tanker 6 set up and proceeded to supply water to the fire crews fighting the large brush fire which extended up a hill overlooking Rye Lake. Tanker 6's crew was actively engaged with Armonk and other mutual aid departments in containing and extinguishing the fire. Katonah's personnel were on the scene from 1837 to 2129.
