On Friday afternoon, KFD responded to a report of an oven fire on The Terrace. Upon arrival units found an active fire that was contained to the oven. Engine 115's crew extinguished the fire, secured the utilities and checked for extension while the ladder company ventilated the house to remove smoke and high levels of carbon monoxide. Due to the quick actions of the homeowner dialing 911 and the quick response from KFD units a larger fire was avoided. This goes to show don't ever hesitate to dial 911 if you think you may need the fire department.
