By Ex Chief Dean W. Pappas
October 3, 2019

Katonah Fire Department was dispatched around 7 p.m. Thursday morning to a reported brush fire on the Route 117 Bypass. Despite the rainy weather, a median strip inside the parking lot of the shopping center on the Bypass had indeed caught fire. Engine 117 responded and the crew used a lightweight hose line to thoroughly soak down the area. The incident was cleared after about 40 minutes and units were back in service by 7:45 a.m. Shortly after, KFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on I-684.

Units: 2211, 2213, 117
