The first Monday drill of November featured a motor vehicle fire evolution. Engine 115 and Tanker 6 participated in the drill, with KFD members extinguishing a fire on a vehicle that had been donated to the department. Using a pre-connected inch and three quarter line, members advanced on the car and extinguished the fire in about 10 minutes using approximately 1000 gallons of water. This kind of training is vital for members because of its realism. Donated cars allow us to train in a "real world" scenario that mimics the actual event.
