Engine 115 and Ladder 39 were used in an extensive training tower drill on Monday, July 10. Members of KFD participated in a search and rescue drill, a May Day drill, and practiced fireground communications and accountability. Several scenarios were practiced, with members searching for a mannequin in the smoked out tower, and then removing the "victim" via a second floor window down Ladder 39. A later scenario involved a practice May Day where members had to adjust a search and rescue to rescue one of their own. The training tower continues to be a valued resource for both KFD and our neighbors, as well as for the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services, which uses the tower for a variety of county training courses.
