This coming Monday, May 27, is Memorial Day. It's a time to pause and honor those who paid the ultimate price to preserve the United States of America. Please join us as we continue our tradition of teaming up with the Katonah American Legion to host the Katonah Memorial Day Parade and Remembrance Ceremony. The event begins at 10 a.m. at Katonah Fire Headquarters, 65 Bedford Road. Members in full dress uniform will march with veterans and town officials from the fire house, through town, and end up at Lawrence Circle at the intersection of Bedford Road and Parkway. A ceremony with speakers, the National Anthem, and a rendition of Taps, along with a wreath-laying, will take place there. Following the Lawrence Circle Ceremony, the procession will head back to the fire house, where there will be another wreath-laying. The event concludes with ice-cream being served to all attendees in back of the firehouse. Please take time to help us remember our fallen men and women in the armed forces.
