A new Veterans' Memorial dedicated to those who gave their lives in late 20th and early 21st century conflicts was dedicated Saturday afternoon, attended by representatives of Katonah's American Legion, Katonah Fire Department, Town of Bedford, and Troop 1 Katonah. The memorial is a culmination of efforts by Troop 1 Eagle Scout Candidate Aidan Cryan, who undertook its construction as his Eagle Service Project. The memorial was built entirely with private donations and assistance from various individuals and town organizations. Katonah FD assisted by hosting a reception at the firehouse after the dedication. In addition, landscaping for the memorial was donated by Palmerini Landscaping, whose head, Davide Palmerini, is a KFD member, and the keynote speaker at the dedication was Henry Bergson, a Vietnam War veteran, Katonah FD Ex-Chief, and Chairman of the Katonah Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners.

The Katonah Fire Department's support of the new Veterans Memorial in Katonah was tremendous and greatly appreciated.

On behalf of all of Bedford's military veterans, we thank Chief Corsino, the Board of Commissioners, and the selfless members of this great FD for helping us dedicate and celebrate the Memorial.
