A reported structure fire at around 3:30 p.m. this afternoon on Croton Lake Road turned out to be an electrical issue that led to a smoky basement and smoke on the first and second floors of the structure. KFD's Engine 116, Ladder 39, Tanker 6, Car 2211, Car 2212, and Car 2213 responded. In addition, Mount Kisco F.A.S.T. Team was called to the scene, and Bedford Hills Fire Department was asked to put an engine on stand by in their quarters. KFD personnel met the home owner and began a thorough search of the structure for the issue. Ladder 39 put its aerial to the second floor while the search was going on. The cause of the smoke was traced to an electrical problem involving the home’s solar panels and NYSEG was called to the scene. Units operated for approximately two and a half hours and the scene was then turned over to NYSEG.
