MVA Ties Up Route 35 Tuesday Night

Katonah Fire Department was dispatched Tuesday night around 8 p.m. to a reported motor vehicle accident on Route 35 near Holly Branch Road, involving extrication, with one car off the road and in the woods. Car 2212 arrived on scene and reported that the occupants were out of the vehicle. Car 2211, Car 2213, Rescue 17, Engine 115 and Utility 8 all responded. Upon arrival, a safe zone was set up and Route 35 was closed between Holly Branch Road and Old Cross River Road. Traffic control was established while those involved in the two-car accident were examined by EMS. Traffic was routed down Old Cross River Road around the accident scene. Fortunately, there were only minor injuries. KFD units were on scene for about an hour and a half.
