At about 4 AM early Thursday morning, Katonah Fire Department was dispatched as a mutual aid agency for a structure fire on Daisy Lane in the Croton Falls Fire District. Initially, 60 Control dispatched KFD's Rescue 17, because it has on-board system to refill firefighters' self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) bottles. Rescue 17 was soon on the road. Approximately 10 minutes after Rescue 17 was dispatched, 60 Control requested KFD's Engine 115 to the scene to assist with firefighting tasks. KFD personnel from both Rescue 17 and Engine 115 went to work, assisting with fire extinguishment and overhaul. Fortunately, the structure, which was undergoing renovation, was unoccupied at the time of the fire. KFD units were on hand assisting Croton Falls until about 7 AM, when units were released by command.
