On Wednesday afternoon, September 2, at about 3:30 PM, Katonah Fire Department was dispatched to a residence on Upper Hook Road for a reported generator fire. Car 2211 arrived on scene and reported an active fire from the generator that controls the residence's driveway gate and lights. Car 2212, Engine 116, and Tanker 6 arrived on scene soon after, and an inch- and three-quarter-pre-connected hose line was stretched from Engine 116 by its crew to extinguish the fire. Damage was confined to the generator itself. Katonah units were operating for approximately an hour, with apparatus back in service by 4:30 PM.
