Saturday morning, Katonah Fire Department's Ladder 39 was requested to help Bedford Hills Fire Department honor recently deceased Bedford Hills Ex Chief and 58 Year Life Member Timothy Hanrahan. Chief Hanrahan joined the Bedford Hills Fire Department in 1962 and became chief in 1976. He was also honored as Firefighter of the Year in 1994. Outside of his volunteer firefighting activities, he served for 14 years with the Town of Bedford Police Department. As Bedford Hills members in dress uniform assembled on the apron of Bedford Hills FD Headquarters, Ladder 39's aerial, with the American Flag at the tip, was extended. We extend our sympathies to Ex Chief Hanrahan's family and to the members of the Bedford Hills Fire Department on their loss.
