At about 1:30 Saturday afternoon, Engine 115 was dispatched to stand by and cover Mount Kisco's fire district while that agency was fighting a large brush fire off of Sheather Road. While enroute to cover the assignment, Engine 115 was redirected to the scene to assist with firefighting efforts. Upon arrival, Engine 115's crew went into the wooded area to assist other crews with fighting the brush fire. Meanwhile, Engine 115 joined other departments' apparatus in providing a steady water supply to the pumpers feeding the hose lines being used by the firefighters. Engine 115 was on scene for about four hours, and was released a few minutes after 5 PM. The brush fire, caused when a power line being worked on by Con Edison ignited dried leaves and brush, was contained and extinguished without any damage to nearby properties or homes.
