At about 7:30 Sunday morning, Katonah Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Route 35 at the on-ramp to I-684 South and the Saw Mill River Parkway. Rescue 17, Engine 115, Car 2211, Car 2212 and Utility 8 responded. Upon arrival, units discovered two cars had collided and had ended up impacting the guardrail. Much of the Route 35 overpass was shut down in both directions while firefighters checked the vehicles and established a safe area to assess those involved. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries. KFD units were on scene for about a half hour, doing traffic control and scene cleanup. Units were back in service by 8 AM.
