At around 9 PM New Year's Eve, Katonah Fire Department's Ladder 39 was dispatched, along with Bedford Hills Fire Department and Mount Kisco Fire Department, for a report of a trailer full of tires, parked next to the Mavis Discount Tire Center on Bedford Road, that had caught fire. The trailer was fully involved and there was some extension to the building itself. Ladder 39 extended its aerial to the roof of the Mavis building to allow firefighters to check on fire spread from that vantage point. Meanwhile, the trailer fire was attacked with both water and foam from Bedford Hills Engine 198 and Mount Kisco Tower Ladder 14. Crews were at work extinguishing the fire for approximately an hour and a half. Fortunately, there were no injuries or serious damage to the building itself. Ladder 39 was back in service by 11 PM.
