Saturday evening, April 17, at about 5:30 PM, Katonah's Ladder 39, along with Bedford Hills FD's Tanker 5, was dispatched to an Old Post Road address on a report of smoke in the residence. Ladder 39 and Tanker 5 are on automatic mutual aid for Bedford village Fire Department when a potential structure fire is reported. Bedford Village's Car 2041 arrived on scene and notice some burning from an exterior smoker unit, that had caused a smoke condition in the house. Ladder 39 arrived on scene and its crew assisted Bedford Village and Bedford Hills firefighters with checking out the house to make sure that there was no extension to the home itself. It turned out that some insulation had burned, but there was no serious damage. Ladder 39 was released from the scene at about 6:10 PM.
