On Sunday afternoon at about 4:20 PM, Katonah Fire Department was dispatched to a home on Deer Park Road for a reported fire at the electrical meters. As crews were assembling, additional 911 calls came in stating that the fire had spread to the rest of the house. Car 2211 called for a 10-75, resulting in mutual aid units being dispatched from Bedford Hills, Bedford Village, South Salem, Somers, and Goldens Bridge fire departments. Engine 116 arrived on scene, pulled up to the house, stretched a pre-connected hose line and went after the fire in the rear of the house. Ladder 39 and Tanker 6, along with Engine 117, arrived soon after, and their crews joined 116's crew in checking the house for extension of the fire. Crews also took readings for carbon monoxide, and shut off power to the house at the electrical panel. Fortunately, the fire did not spread too far and no injuries were reported. Units were on scene for about two hours. Katonah Fire Department extends its sincere appreciation to the mutual aid units that were both on scene and standing by at our headquarters.
