On Thursday evening, Katonah Fire Department was dispatched to a two-car motor vehicle accident on I-684 south near the Route 35 overpass. Rescue 17, Engine 115, Car 2211, Car 2212, and Car 2213 all responded. One car had rear-ended another, with one car in the middle of the interstate and the other in front of a disabled tractor trailer that was in the process of being towed. Katonah personnel established a safe zone for the Medic, Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Katonah-Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps to operate. Two individuals were transported to Northern Westchester Hospital with minor injuries. Katonah units were operating from about 7:45 PM to 9:20 PM.
