Katonah Fire Department volunteers responded this afternoon to an inside odor of gas at a building on Parkway in downtown Katonah. Engine 116, Ladder 39 and Engine 115 responded to the 3 PM call, and apparatus shut down the eastbound side of Parkway while the investigation was carried out. Subsequent to the initial odor of gas, an odor of smoke was found, and fire crews, after checking out the entire building, isolated the issue to a dry cleaning business on the ground floor. Crews were operating for a little over an hour, and were back in service by 4:15 PM.
