A donated car plus miserable, icy weather set the stage for a drill Monday night, January 12. KFD members used Rescue 17's cutter, spreaders, and ram tool to cut apart a vehicle donated by a KFD member. Firefighters practiced stabilizing the car, removing the doors, rear hatch, and roof, and "rolling" or pushing up the dashboard. The drill was conducted in a cold rain with ice and slush on the training pad, simulating conditions when KFD would most likely be using these skills.
