Katonah Fire Department volunteers were kept busy Thursday, April 28, responding to four incidents over the course of the day. Initially, at about 7:30 AM, the department was dispatched to a commercial alarm on Katonah Avenue. Following that investigation, the winds picked up across the area, and subsequently KFD was dispatched to mutual aid calls to Croton Falls & Bedford Hills both involving brush fires. After assisting with those two incidents, KFD was dispatched around 6:15 PM, to a tree down across the road on Reservoir Road just in from Jay St. Once it was determined that the power lines were not energized, the area was blocked off with caution tape, and units went back in service.
