Katonah Fire Department recently purchased a 15-foot inflatable Zodiac boat with motor and trailer from Pleasantville Fire Department. The boat is designated as "Marine 47". It will join our current row boat, "Marine 38". Over the next few weeks, KFD volunteers will be training on the boat itself, as well as learning the techniques of hauling it on a trailer, which will be attached to our Utility 8 truck. The boat will enhance our ability to perform rescues and searches on the various reservoirs that surround our fire district. On Monday night, members were given an orientation of the new boat, and were also given practice driving Utility 8 with the boat and trailer attached to it.
