Most of the morning rush was completely held up Wednesday as an overturned truck blocked the ramp to Route 35 and the ramp from the SMRP to I-684. KFD Volunteers were dispatched at about 8 am for the rollover with reported extrication as well as an ejected occupant. Rescue 17, Engine 115 and Utility 8 responded. Engine 116, responding to a concurrent call for an inside smoke investigation, redirected to the accident scene after determining that the smoke came from a nearby mulch pile. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the three occupants had either been ejected or had self extricated and were being treated for injuries by Westchester EMS and Katonah-Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps. All three were conscious and alert. KFD crews established safe zones, redirecting traffic away from the exit ramp and back onto I-684 NB. Katonah units were assisted by NY State Police, Westchester County Police, Bedford Police, NYDOT, and NYDEP Police. Units were on the scene from about 8 AM to 11 AM, whereupon the scene was turned over to NYDOT.
