Earlier today 1st Assistant Chief Whalen and Ex-Captain Hickey attended the annual Westchester Fallen Firefighters ceremony in Valhalla. During this ceremony the names of all the Westchester firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty are read aloud. Today and every day we remember Chief James F. Lawrence Sr who was killed 63 years ago in the line of duty at a call on Mt. Holly Rd. The circle in the center of town is named in his memory.
