3rd Alarm in Golden's Bridge

February 25, 2015

Around 10:40am, Golden's Bridge FD was dispatched to the intersection of Lake Street and Danger Road for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, E140's officer found heavy smoke in the structure and requested their first alarm assignment. Engine 116 was requested to relocate to Golden's Bridge Headquarters. While units were en route, heavy fire was showing from the basement and a 2nd alarm was transmitted. Engine 116 and Tanker 6 were then requested to the scene. Due to snow conditions and poor access, firefighters took longer than usual to get water on the fire. While crews were stretching lines, Croton Falls FD Car 2071 (IC) transmitted a 3rd alarm. Engine 116's crew stretched a line to the basement to assist in fire suppression, as well as opening up the ceiling and walls. Units operated for more than two hours before returning in service.
