A brush fire caused by a fallen power line led to a response by Katonah Fire Department Volunteers on Saturday. Engine 117, Tanker 6, and Cars 2211 and 2213 responded to Mount Holly Road near North Salem Road at around 11:30 after neighbors reported a bright brush fire in a wetlands area near the two roads' intersection. Units arrived on scene and set up for fire extinguishing operations once NYSEG shut off power to the area. However, once the power was turned off, the fire burned itself out. Units were on scene for about an hour, returning to service by 12:45 PM.
