Saturday's slightly damp weather did not take away at all from the Fire Prevention Week Open House at Katonah Fire Department. Volunteers eagerly showed off apparatus, equipment, and training techniques, along with offering fire truck rides and a live burn at the end of the event. We were happy to welcome our neighbors to this very important event, where the public can learn not only about fire safety, but also about what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter.
