Katonah Fire Department Volunteers, along with volunteers from Bedford Hills Fire Department, teamed up with Town of Bedford pool staff and Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department's Water Rescue Team to learn about rescuing victims in swimming pools. Deep water and shallow water rescue techniques were demonstrated and then tried by members at the Bedford Hills Memorial Park swimming pool. The training wrapped up with an orientation of the equipment and capabilities of Yorktown Height's Rescue 55 Water Rescue truck. It was a great way to bring volunteer agencies and town personnel together to drill on a vital lifesaving skill.
