KFD was lucky enough to receive an old Land Rover which was donated to us by a member of the community. Over multiple Mondays we used this car for both extrication and car fire training. The first night was a simulation of a multiple patient rollover with people trapped both in the car and under it. Members practiced stabilizing the vehicle, lifting it with airbags and then cutting the car away to free the driver. The car was then up righted and members got a chance to practice removing doors with the "jaws of life."

The following Monday, KFD practiced on multiple car fire evolution's using water and then foam.

The members of the Katonah Fire Department would like to thank the community member for donating their car. It proved to be a valuable training tool.
