| Beautiful weather and a great turnout yesterday for our annual Open House!
While preparing for yesterdays event, members were dispatched to a motor vehicle fire around 9:30 a.m. Crews returned shortly after the Open House began and jumped right in to help welcome the community.
Families enjoyed truck rides, spraying water from a hose line, a bounce house, coloring books, and light refreshments. Visitors also had a chance to get a closer look at the gear and tools our firefighters use.
Halfway through the event, members held a live vehicle extrication demonstration, showing how firefighters stabilize a vehicle on its side, use rescue tools to remove the roof, and make room to safely remove a patient.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by and spent part of their day with us. We appreciate your continued support and hope to see you back next Saturday, October 17, for our annual Backyard Blaze!
And for anyone else may have missed yesterdays event, the Bedford Hills Fire Department is hosting their annual Open House today from 1:00-4:00pm. |
