The Katonah Chamber of Commerce held its annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Sunday night, albeit without the usual crowd of spectators and carolers. Instead, the Chamber invited a limited number of representatives from Bedford Police, Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and Katonah Fire Department to attend and to assist with the tree lighting. Raffle tickets were handed out and the individual with the winning number threw the switch illuminating the tree. Following remarks by the Chamber, and a prayer from St. Luke's Priest Father Patrick Ward, Captain Alex Whalen of the Katonah Fire Department, who had the winning ticket, threw the switch. The lighting ceremony proved that in the midst of a pandemic, a little holiday cheer is always welcome.
