Last night, KFD volunteers were dispatched to a tractor trailer rollover accident on I-684 North. Cars 2211, 2212, 2213, Rescue 17, Engine 115, and Tanker 6 responded. Rescue 17 and Engine 115 crews on scene checked for fuel leaks, spread absorbent to soak up a minor fluid spill, and ensured there was no need for further stabilization of the vehicle. Tanker 6 served as a blocking apparatus, re-routing traffic at Exit 6 around the accident scene while RJB towing assembled its three heavy duty tow trucks to remove the damaged cab and trailer. In total, KFD units were on scene from dispatch at 9 PM Friday, October 3rd to 1 AM Saturday, October 4th. Fortunately, the driver of the truck did not appear to have any injuries.
