It’s a bittersweet morning for the Katonah Fire Department as our 1999 walk-through rescue left the firehouse for the very last time. After decades of service, it called out of service one final time and said goodbye to its original family before heading off to its new home.

This rescue was more than just a truck we took on calls, it was part of our story here at the Katonah Fire Department. For many of our members, it was the first rig they learned to drive, the first truck they rode to a fire call on, and the one they sat in on the way to their first parade. The memories made with this truck will stay with us for years to come and will always have a place in our department’s history.

We look forward to welcoming our new one in the months ahead, ready to continue building memories and serving our community.
