Late Friday night, KFD volunteers were dispatched to a report of smoke in the structure at Just Lift Fitness on the Route 117 Bypass. Cars 2211, 2212, 2213, Engine 116, Ladder 39, and Engine 115 all responded. First arriving units confirmed a moderate smoke condition throughout the structure. Ladder 39 placed its aerial on the roof of the structure so crews could check the HVAC units there, while Engine 116's crew gained entry and checked the interior of the gym, as well as adjacent businesses. Engine 115's crew set up a hydrant as a precaution.

After checking, it was determined that the situation was likely caused by an issue with one of the rooftop air handlers. The unit was turned off and the structure was vented. Units were on scene from about 9:49 PM to 11 PM.
