On Monday morning, March 30, numerous fire and EMS agencies were dispatched to assist Somers Volunteer Fire Department at a fire that occurred at the former IBM complex off of Route 100. A fire had broken out in an interior storage room inside one of the abandoned buildings. Tanker 6 was dispatched along with tankers from other North Westchester County fire departments to provide additional water, if needed. The fire was brought under control with minimal extension to other areas of the building. Crews had to deal with welded doors and an indirect path to the fire room for ventilation. Tanker 6 remained on scene from the 10:30 AM dispatch to about 2 PM.
